Everyone seems to be talking about the benefits of Argan Oil products. But the most talked about product has been Moroccan Oil. However, it’s hard to spend on $42.88 (Amazon) for a few fluid ounces of hair product. So I have found 3 alternatives that have very similar ingredient lists, for all of you budget conscience girly, girls out there!
So, the original Moroccan Oil penetrating oil ingredients are:
Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone, Cyclomethicone, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Argania Spinoza Kernel Oil (Aragan Oil), Linseed Extract (Linum Usitatissimum), Fragrance (Supplement), D&C Yellow 11, D&C Red 17, Coumarin, Benzyl Benzoate, Alpha Isomethyl Ionone
1. Organix Moroccan Argan Oil Renewing Penetrating Oil
Ingredients: Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone, Cyclomethicone, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Argania Spinoza (Argan) Oil, Linum Usitatissimum (Linseed) Extract, Parfum, Yellow 11, Red 17.
This product is practically the same as MoroccanOil. The listed order is the same except for in the Organix argan oil it contains C12-15 alkyl benzoate, which is an emollient and thickener. The last three ingredients in the MorroccanOil are not in the Organix oil, but the small amounts that are in that product probably doesn’t make much of a difference. 2. Agadir Argan Oil Spray Treatment
Ingredients: Cyclotetrasiloxane, Cyclopentasiloxane and Cyclohexasiloxane, Dimethicone, Phenyl Trimethicone, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Fragrance (Parfum)
Once again the ingredients are very similar. However, I like this product especially for the ease of application! Just spray and go, no worrying about applying too much oil in one spot.
3. One ‘n Only Argan Oil Treatment
Ingredients: Dimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethiconol, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Fragrance (Parfum), Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Yellow 11 (CI 47000), Red 17 (CI 26100).
This particular product is the least similar, but still you can see that the ingredients are practically the same!
There are SO many options for a good MoroccanOil dupe! So save some money and have awesome hair! It’s a win, win situation!
I love argan oil, I use the one from pro naturals which is very good for hair, leaves mine soft, shiny and healthy. 😀
sallys beauty supply sells one by the proclaim line that has similiar ingredients to morrocanoil and it smells lovely. works extremely well on all hair types. sells for under $7 with your sallys card.
Good to know! I checking it out tomorrow!
Don’t use any argan oil with linseed oil. Linseed is a drying oil.
Best shampoo and conditioner made from argan oil, in my opinion, are the ones from pro naturals.
